A couple of years ago our delightful neighbour gave us some almond wood, felled from a tree in her garden. I thought I’d give her something in return so I’ve cut it, waxed it, dried it, waited, waited some more, shaped it, turned it, oiled it, waxed it … and it’s still splitting and warping. Typical of most fruit woods I guess.
