BlipaEwan 19...
This is my monthly track of my children as they grow to see how they change as time goes by. I try to get them on the same date of each month (the one year ago thumbnail has proved a brilliant tool for this series) and in the same pose so that I can see how they change over time. I also want to record in text, some of the little details that happen month on month so that when we and he are older, we can look back on them.
It would appear Ewan is growing fast. He's only about 1 and a half but already, emergency bed conversion have had to be implemented. I went up to get him one morning to find him with one leg over the edge of his cot even though it is at it's lowest bed/tallest gate setting. One wee bed conversion later and it's a 6 inch drop to the floor instead of a 4 foot drop. This is all well and good but the only problem is that it is very hard to convey the process of bedtime and staying in ones bed to a one year old. We're having to stay in the room until he drops off because he just doesn't understand the concept and just gets out of bed if you leave the room. This also makes bedtime slightly difficult as traditionally I've taken him up first while Bethany played downstairs. Get him off to bed and leave the room. Just doesn't work now so it's a combined story and song time for both of them at the same time.
Still no words but Ewan is starting to form word like sounds. He can do a good 'shhhhoooe' and a good finger on mouth and 'shhhhhh' along with the ocasional half word sounds like 'Mmmmaaaaammmaaaa', 'Daaaaaa'.
We may also be seeing a slow down in the number of accidents. There certainly haven't been many recorded incidents of severe falling off sofas or running into door. He is getting a bit handier on his feet but now that Bethany is out of nappies, he is in real nappies a lot more which ain't great for stability at speed.
You can check out the rest of this series and see his progress by entering the words tagged BlipaEwan into the Blip Search facility.
