Andrew at Casey's

Last night was just like old times. All the old crowd came to Casey's last night: Andrew, Hector, Richard, and KC & Anne who were hosting the open mic. Even Carlos turned up. Carlos runs the open mic every alternate Thursday.

Beers inside the bar, smokes and laughter out front and a series of comings and goings as we took turns to get up and sing. Casey's is a great litmus test because the customers are really loud. It's an Irish bar, what can I say. So, this means you need to belt it out and keep the songs uptempo. We all took up the challenge and admirably fought the crowd. Everybody won :-).

As I watched my dear friends do what they always do, Andrew became top of mind. He and Caitlin are moving to Rome August 20th for four years. I pondered on how this was a brief moment in time, and that we should get some shots of him and of us performing so that, when he's far from home and perhaps allows his mind to wander back in time, he'll have some wonderful photos to look at.

Impromptu, I thought of having a wee get-together before they leave, asked all the crowd last night and it turns out that next Tuesday is the best night. So, best I start getting organized!
