Last bike ride of the year?
Sunday
There was a slight frost first thing, but under sunny skies, the temperature rose to a very pleasant 63F (about 17C). We had a wonderful morning at church, with great music provided by the handbells, choir and Praise band. We had an extra short handbell practice after service, to practice Adeste Fideles which we will be playing together with organ and trumpet on December 1, the first Sunday in Advent, and also the first Sunday after Thanksgiving, which falls rather late this year. This means we will miss practice that week, since handbell and choir practice are on Thursday. We will still have practice this week, but Gloria our director thought it would be a good idea to fit in an extra practice. After that we headed to Bible study a bit late.
After a lunch of leftovers at home, we decided it was warm enough to get out for a bike ride -:in all likelihood the last this year, as the temperatures are dropping this week, and we tend to be fair weather cyclists! We drove up to Corwin, and I managed almost 11 miles, with R doing a couple more as usual. The trail was surprisingly clear of leaves - we reckoned they must have been along sucking the leaves up!
