Resting

Back blipped

Overnight I had used all the tablets & needed more, so we went to the village doctor, but she had gone to a nearby town to shop. Jackson wasn’t impressed that the medical centre was closed. I only realised it was Sunday, so that explained it. So back to the doctor at the lodge, he was surprised to see me. After further discussion, it turns out we were having side effects of the anti-malaria medication we were taking. The doctor said it is a terrible drug & we were to come off it for 3 days to let our bodies recover. The malaria risk in the area isn’t negligible apparently. The “enemy was US$ 50” this time. He was a bit embarrassed that I had to return, hence he negotiated a price reduction with the hotel manager. So, lots of anti-insect spray & cover-up to avoid being bitten in the meantime.
I felt marginally better & took more photos helped by seeing lots of elephants, lions & a classic leopard in a tree.

Shortly after we arrived back at camp, it sounded like thunder, but it turned out to be wildebeest stampeding around the camp, what an amazing experience to watch them from the front of the tent (see extra).
I had vegetable soup & a roll for dinner.
Unless I am improved in the morning, we won’t be able to move to the Northern camp.
