Goldfinch Pair
John turned up unexpectedly at lunchtime with his chain saw and cut the lowest branches off the Christmas tree for me. They were becoming entangled with brambles and I don't want the vile things to climb right up it. It will be lovely to go through the garden gate without getting tangled up in dangling thorns. Mish and I spent quite a while carting the cuttings down to the bonfire heap. I raked them onto a large sheet of Mypex and dragged them down with the van.
We had some nice spells of sunshine and the goldfinches were twittering happily in a field maple.
