Arrived!

Up good and early and off after a quick breakfast. It was possibly the best drive north I have had.. well, certainly for years!  There was almost no traffic to start with and I had reached north of Manchester before any rain started to fall.  It was intermittent and the views were beautiful with rainbows, blue sky and distant rainstorms particularly in the lakes that meant the scenery was beautiful. For once there were no hold ups so I arrived just before sunset and caught a moment before dark..  lovely. 
My daughter was still here with her friend and they were mid jigsaw puzzle .. determined to finish it before heading back to Edinburgh.  I helped and by 5 we had completed it and they set off leaving me alone.. now the fatigue will settle in!!  So glad I picked up a supper than can just pop in the oven and then I will get to bed. 
It is bitterly cold.. left home at around 10C and up over shap it was only 3 and there was some sleet.. really thankful that I didn't get the snow that is forecast for monday and tuesday.. up to 6 inches may fall around the high ground near Shap apparently so fingers crossed that has sorted itself out before I go home again! It feels like there may be a frost tonight here.. brr!
