Male Teal

After scraping the ice off the car windscreen at 08.45, we headed off to West Kilbride for a walk on the beach. It was only 1C on the car temperature gauge when we left but we were well wrapped up and on the beach it felt perfectly pleasant. Looking across to Arran there was a smattering of snow on the mountains (in extra). Lots of birds on the beach and in the shallows: teal, oystercatchers, gulls, one redshank, one curlew, pied wagtail, mallard, crows. 
I chose this male teal for my blip as his pretty feathers camouflage so well against the stones and seaweed.
Afterwards we went into West Kilbride village to the Barony Centre for coffee and scones then into the Christmas Craft Fair to buy a couple of little things. Back home for lunchtime.
