Sport on Sunday

The weather has turned wintry with icy drizzle to add to the cooling air.

I really needed to get out for a walk so was pleased that the second half of Leeds HP first vs Brayton Belles was underway. I was told the score was 1-0 to the visitors (who had only 3 points from 9 games in Div1 of the west riding County womens football league). I was following the play when a fifty-fifty challenge left a home player down on the ground with a nasty ankle injury, ouch! She was helped off, at the same time a team mate left the field in tears and limping. It was at this point that I noticed Hyde Park were competing with only 8 players and no subs having lost a 3rd player earlier with a broken arm.

Needless to say Brayton scored a 2nd goal ( see main for celebration). It was brutal, and my hands were feeling cold and my fingertips numb so I went home. I had only been out for 20 minutes.
