Damp . . .
Seems like the season of mists is already upon us. Nothing but drizzle and haar all day long. Thought I would catch up and get lots of bits and piece done, but instead ended up baking, so much more appealing than vacuuming and dusting!
Ollie and I went up over the hill this evening. Not been up for a while as earlier in the year there are lots of ground nesting birds up there, lapwings, curlews, terns and oystercatchers, but by now the fledglings have all flown and although there was a lot of shouting at us from parental oystercatchers, they were quite safe from us. Ollie half heartedly chased a couple of rabbits but came back as soon as I called him - he has no real killer instinct! We put up a short eared owl - I almost stood on him in the long grass. Super to see him at such close quarters, such thick legs and terrific talons.
The mist up on the top was thick and wet - both of us came back soaked, with our hair curling in the dampness!
