2024 Saturday — Blending Seasons

Autumn has always been my favorite part of the calendar. Decorating with yards and yards of garlands of leaves, white pumpkins, orange pumpkins, little and big pumpkins, gourds with goose necks and some with warts, burgundy chrysanthemums, mustard marigolds just makes me feel good.

So I move slowly into the twelfth month; I love it too but I don’t want to exit autumn. About two dozen or more years ago I discovered I could combine the two seasons. As autumn leaned into December, I would add gold, crimson, and pine needle green . . . twinkly lights, shiny beads, and poinsettias. Creator God puts all the various colors together. The blending of the two seasons calmed me. I could settle and I could sigh at the wonder of it. I no longer had to exit one season to enjoy the next.

That blending happened today . . . smack-dab in the middle of autumn, Christmas was ushered onto the stage. The moment at Morro Bay Presbyterian Church was magnificent. The Women’s Christmas Luncheon . . . the ages of the females in the room spanned from younger than 20 to at least 90 years old, and I’m wagering that each one of us had a very good time.

The entire event was inviting and settling. The food was delicious; the songs were favorites, and the message was unique, original, and so meaningful. I came away knowing I had been brought to the entrance of Christmas.

If you get an invitation to a Christmas luncheon, a Christmas dinner, and/or a Christmas concert, say “Yes!”

Good night from
California’s Central Coast,
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
and Chloe & Mitzi too!
