A Solitary Figure
I didn't see the heron at first, in the gloom and dour of the day. But there he stood, stationary and alone, framed by branches of the fallen willow, no doubt preparing to hunt for his supper. In the distance I could hear the kingfisher active, probably similarly occupied.
I had to work a little to bring out the bird from its surroundings and opted to show it in its environment, rather than my normal close up view.
