We had a lovely time today, starting with the craft fair at Cockenzie House, coffee and a wander. The salt pan demonstrator informed us that salt produced is available for sale at the nearby Heritage Museum so, after pottering by the harbour, we found the museum
And what a welcome and what a mine of information met us. I cannot recount everything but this link makes a neat summary and there is plenty here if you wish for more.
My blip is a facsimile of a waggon that would have been used to carry coal from the coalfield at Tranent to fire the salt pans in Cockenzie.
After a brief time at home we went over to Miss Flum's for tea and only arrived home a few moments ago, hence the brief text.
