Patchy
Got the 4am woof .. aka the woof of fear … dog needed an emergency out. Thought ok I can handle this then found the cat had been having a sadistic party with some mice - spent an hour trying to rescue the carpet. Took an optimistic cup of camomile tea back to bed. Had a swim scheduled so up again too soon, dogs out for a walk first and (made serious mistake here) fed them, then down to Aros for 9.30. It was cold. A strong N wind blew us back in - our first lobster red exit from the sea of the season. Got home feeling good - didn’t last long as was met with another, possibly even worse (won’t go into detail - but the carpet cleaner has now given up the ghost) carpet disaster situation. Had arranged for coffee with A at 11 and managed to just about get the house ok for her arrival, she’s very forgiving.
Spent the rest of the day doing more attempts at carpet rescue, dog walks etc and was so relieved to have M get home ok from Glasgow.
The photo is of some pieces from a bag of scraps of tweed I bought from a charity shop when I was in Lewis - A was choosing a piece to patch one of her favourite jumpers.
Aiming for an early and non eventful night.
