Reunion
(16/11/24)
The day finally arrived! One of our ex-Pathfinders was in town and contacted G & me asking if we were free to meet. The answer, of course, was YES! Rukshi wasn't just a Pathfinder, she was also one of our band members, playing keyboards and the organ.
Since leaving Dubai (in 2009), she has graduated, found work, got married, and is now a mum! It was great to meet her husband and son, Rafael, who is an absolute angel. He was so good throughout the entire evening. Her husband was really friendly and we had a very happy few hours with them. I've done a collage to capture the best moments.
We dined at Wokyo and ended up on an abra, something G & I haven't done in ages. From where we were, the only option was a short trip to the Spice Souk or the Big Souk, so we chose the Spice Souk. We walked them through to the Gold Souk which blew them away. Sebastian said he had never seen anything like it! I am so glad Rukshi took the time to meet with us.
In the morning, work was busy as always and G came home having tried to park up somewhere close to visit GESS again but it wasn't meant to be.
PS. In case you are wondering, the bejewelled leopard is $2 million and the old man at the juice bar has been there since my tour guiding days in the mid 90s. He recognised me. So cool!
