Putting on a front

Jo and I spent this morning in Spittlefields market and surrounds which is fast becoming my favourite place to go in London.  We came across this perplexing piece of construction which was evidently an attempt to keep an old façade but build something else behind it.  

It's a practice called facadism and this is a pretty awful example as even the windows don't match up.  Another photo in extras.
