Wild (Day 3477)
After the very windy morning wander with Sigyn, the first job on the list for the day was a trip through to Stromness to check on the horses. Yesterday Red was being a pain to catch and my beautiful wife ran out of time to get a rug on him ahead of the poor weather coming in. This morning I wandered into the field and caught him with absolutely no difficulty. He can be an odd fella at times.
After battling to get his coat on in the gale of wind that was blowing, I snapped a shot of the view from the field. It was difficult to hold my phone still enough for a pic as I was being battered around by the wind.
I zoomed across to Evie to have a coffee and catch up with C, then back home to get Sigyn out for a wander at Lyde. We were lucky and missed hail showers at both ends of the walk, but it was very cold in the wind.
Home for lunch then back to Stromness to put out hay for the horses and check they were all ok. Red, being Red, was the first to greet me using his big squishy schnozzle to poke me in the face. He was very pleased to get a whole banana, as were the rest of the crew. While I was dishing out hay, Mum and Birsay arrived at the field, and we had a brief and mostly shouted catch up. It wasn't a day for standing around outside.
