The Buff's Dragon
A cloudy drizzle-filled day. I spent two hours turning one of our enormous compost heaps. My blip is a view through our cloakroom window. The 'stained glass' is, of course, a reproduction. Its from a 1950s window by the Scottish artist William Wilson in St Michael's Chapel at Canterbury Cathedral. The chapel is dedicated to the Royal East Kent Regiment (The Buffs). The dragon was adopted as their regimental symbol in the early 18th century. Although it is predominantly green, rather than red, it resembles a Welsh dragon and is a reminder that, in the past, our house has been on the Welsh side of the border.
