Today I thought I had woken up later than usual and then remembered the clocks had been turned back. Therefore I had really arisen at almost exactly the same time as I do normally but it still left me feeling a little discombobulated.
Once I'd gotten my head around the time change I managed to have a lovely quiet read of my book with a strong coffee as the rest of the household was still slumbering.
It was then an earlyish run before we had to head out for the usual food shop but sadly we were unable to follow it with our traditional Sunday pint at The Horseshoes in East Farliegh as Teston Bridge is still closed and the alternative route through town was gridlocked meaning we had to double back and find an alternative destination for our liquid refreshment needs - in this instance The Oak On The Green at Bearsted.
When we got home after a longer and more stressful journey than anticipated we watched another wonderfully calming episode of one of our favourite programmes - "Abandoned Railways From Above" on Channel 4, which in this instance followed the lost line from Carlisle to Edinburgh's Waverley Station, with a large glass of wine.
Today's image was taken on another lone local lone photographic safari later in the afternoon as my brother was otherwise engaged making a chocolate cake. It's the windscreen of a small sports car parked on the long drive at Preston Hall which I just liked for the rather eccentric nature of what appeared to be inside the car against the fallen autumn leaves on the vehicle's bodywork and the reflections of some nearby trees, lending it an abstract feel. I did crop the image slightly to give it a more widescreen - or should that be windscreen - format.
After what felt like a busy day I couldn't be bothered to start making a Sunday dinner so it was beans on toast followed by a large slice of my brother's delicious chocolate cake served with a hot chocolate sauce and double cream. A great end to the day!
