Cargo bike
Thanks for the birthday wishes on yesterday’s blip. I really appreciated them!
We’ve seen these bikes like these being used to transport goods and children around the city. A warmer day today, very pleasant. R and I felt like locals. We went into Anna’s, a favourite cafe, to order breakfast, and the young man behind the counter said, “Three cappuccinos and three croissants to go?” Kalyn wanted something other than a croissant, so R asked for two croissants and a cinnamon bun, and we had a laugh with him. Kalyn had practice and a team meeting to watch videos in preparation for tomorrow night’s game. Renata and I walked around the city for a few hours and did a bit of shopping. Kalyn came over for supper but isn’t staying overnight. We walked her to her car and saw the final supermoon of 2024!
We’re looking forward to the games this weekend.
So…we went to Kalyn’s practice last night, and there were some people playing basketball in the next court. At the end of practice, I went have a look at them. Renata called me to come back. Kalyn’s team was standing by the net, and they all started clapping and singing Happy Birthday to me, coach, assistant coach and one of the team management guys included! Was I embarrassed? “As red as a tomato!” one of the girls said. Renata had such a laugh at my reaction, and we laughed all the way home. Lucky there weren’t too many other walkers around! It wasn’t Kalyn’s idea to sing. She had posted a story about my birthday on Instagram, and a some of her teammates thought they should sing to me. Pretty special, a great memory for sure!
