The reward after I made it home from my early morning appointment at the orthopedic, followed by a brief visit at work. And a stop at Aldi for some groceries.
Bad news for my colleagues; I will not go back to the office for at least another two  weeks.  My optimistic lookout yesterday was destroyed after 400 meters on my feet. Once again I thought I wouldn't make it home; carrying the grocery bags upstairs was a final task.
Nothing new from the orthopedic. She's still saying the fracture is older (not knowing how old). It doesn't matter how often I repeat that I can exactly say when and where the pain suddenly first showed up (3 weeks tomorrow). Since the "how" is impossible in her eyes ("you can't fracture a bone by getting up from a bench") I gave up on that.
I'm advised to move carefully and not overdo it.
OK, I will. An see her again in another two weeks.

Picked up a few important papers at work, talked to the boss and will try to do some of the really urgent jobs from home. I can't sit on the desk for long, but an hour here and there is possible.
It didn't help that first thing I discovered at work was a major mistake - had given my new colleague instructions and she misunderstood. It will take more effort to straighten that out, but that happens. She will never make that mistake again and I'm not blaming her at all. If nothing else goes wrong.....we are all doing what we can do, but there's a limit to everything.

It was interesting to watch myself (really,  I did) get sucked up in this one hour at work.  I'll bet if I check my fitbit, my heartrate went straight up....
