Lyre

Final leg of the Tour Down Under and most of the day was taken up with travel. We left the Blue Mountains at 10.30 but before leaving we took a walk around the hotel. No spectacular views as there was thick cloud and fog but this female Lyrebird came out of the bush and majestically walked across the pavement in front of us.
We arrived in Cairns at dusk but the drive up to Port Douglas was dark so we missed the picturesque coastal road. We checked into our huge apartment (three bedrooms for just the two of us) and went to explore for somewhere to eat and to buy some basic provisions for a quick breakfast as tomorrow we have an early  start for a skytrain tour of the rainforest.
