A Tyger's Head At Five To Two, Tonbridge
We decided to make a return visit to Tonbridge to see the top end of town and have a walk round the castle and its' grounds. However, when we got there the gardens were closed as they were setting them up for Christmas, so that was a bit of a disappointment as they looked they would have been lovely to walk around. We did a quick tour of the top end of the High Street and then had a meander around the back streets and the church. This was where I took today's image in Church Lane. The building itself is called Tyger's Head (no one is quite sure how it came by that name) and is a 15th Century Grade 2 listed property. It also had this tiger's head staring out of this leaded window and I really liked it's juxtaposition with the church tower behind it. After our mini ramble around town we headed to the Ivy House restaurant and bar for a pint and some small plates for lunch. A rather nice way to end our micro trip!
