Los Ladrones

In English, it mean the thieves.  There are no developed hiking trails in this craggy range, which helped give the Ladrones their name. Bank robbers and train thieves used to ride their horses to, and hide out in, these inaccessible mountains, thus avoiding capture.

~ I went hiking in the Sandia Mountain following my doctor's appointment which is located at the foothills. I took the main photo from my sunny spot in the Sandias (the east).  Hard to believe these west and east photos were from the same day.
