dishwasher malfunction

Came home from work and found that the part of the dishwasher programming unit that tells it to go round the house and gather up all the dirty dishes and collect them from the sink doesn't seem to be working any more. Now the question is that as the dishwasher is quite old and the door falls off regularly, is it worth getting the programming unit repaired or should I just get a new dishwasher?
