Red squirrel at risk

Photo: spotted this young red squirrel this morning, his cheeks bulging with peanuts. Good to see but it means he is sharing his territory with grey squirrels and  therefore at high risk of catching the virus which kills them.
 
We attended the funeral of a former friend and work colleague of M. It was a celebration of a life well lived with a full church and six eulogies. It’s the first funeral I have ever been to where each eulogy, representing different strands of his life from work, hillwalking, charity and family was greeted with spontaneous applause. 
He was 86, a retired manager with ICI,  and very active to the end.
