A Soaker of a Day!
It poured today - wind swept rain. The main blip says it all. Leaves are probably all off the trees now, ending what was a glorious fall with superb fall leaf color.
I had an appointment with my naturopathic doctor this morning, following up on a gut test I had a month or so ago - the results take some time. Turns out that I probably have Celiac Disease, or at least a very elevated sensitivity to gluten. I've had gut issues for absolutely years, but we've never gotten past trying to treat the repeated infections. Finally, an answer - I'm actually really pleased to have an answer. Since the test for Celiac Disease is a biopsy during an endoscopy, and since I had an endoscopy last week, we're going to go on the assumption that a gluten free diet will dramatically improve my health. We can do the biopsy next time :-) A good clean out of the fridge and cupboard is in order tomorrow! Onwards.
On a brighter note, as I was on my way to the east side to see my doc, I saw the Portland City Christmas Tree being delivered on a large flatbed pulled over to the side of the road. It's a 75' Douglas Fir, harvested in Gaston, Oregon. Here's a video of the tree being installed in Pioneer Courthouse Square (downtown) if you're interested:
