A little something for the weekend...

A day of two halves...first was the task of making the Empire biscuits for D to take on his annual walking / golfing break in the Lake District with a group of friends.  It will be a more leisurely weekend this year as Keith has recently had surgery so no golf or long walks for him.

As ever when I am baking for others, things are not straightforward, and at the rolling out and cutting stage I thought the biscuits were going to be a disaster but thankfully after their 10 mins in the oven they turned out fine :-)

Rest of the afternoon was spent having a massive tidy up of all the things still sitting on the dining table from the re-decoration.  Since the sofas aren't coming till the New Year decisions were made about where to position nik naks and some art work.  If it has to be re-arranged when the sofas arrive, so be it. 

Tesco online order done, D all packed, dinner done...it's almost time for Shetland!  Oooo and a cuppa and maybe a wee Empire Biscuit (yes I sneaked a little one for myself ;-))
