Trees in the clouds

Today’s walk was cancelled as expected. The weather forecast proved correct and it rained all morning. I took the opportunity to do some jobs and make some bread. I tried to finish my book, but it is hard going. I am reading Philip Roth’s ‘The human stain’ in French, but it is nearly 500 pages of small print. I am a slow reader anyway, but, as it is a literary work, there are words that I would not usually come across in everyday French so looking them up makes progress even slower. However, I have not got much more to read. The next book I choose will be shorter and easier to read. By mid afternoon, I was experiencing cabin fever so decided to go for a walk through the village even though it was horribly cold and damp.
