Leaving the sunshine behind
I left South Yorkshire in sunshine. Then as I approached the summit of the moors I entered a foggy world (around where I took this image). When I emerged from it on the other side of the Pennines it was a gloomy day.
The fencing here is I think to help prevent snow blowing over and blocking the road - the Woodhead pass, a key link across the moors, is liable to closure in bad weather. The fencing is not in a good state of repair.
This has been my first trip across the Pennines this year, and it’s gone well. I am thinking that over the next 12 or so months I ought to explore other parts of Yorkshire, there’s a lot to see and it’s a long time since I’ve visited.
