Volunteerism

Edited to another image that I really like better - it's just an 8 foot weed, not a sunflower. It's crazy how seeds are distributed by birds and mammals. This is a sunflower volunteer that was displaced from one end of our acre lot to the other - about as far away as possible, right over the top of our home. We are allowing them to grow up tall as they desire...why not? There's nothing much else growing on this side of the house anyway. It's funny how you can nurture away...weed, water, fertilize...and then something just starts growing without any nurturing whatsoever. And that one sometimes is the strongest and healthiest of all.

Let's raise our glasses to volunteerism! Great and tall and strong and stout! Reach for the sky volunteers!
