Fabric
Today I was joined by my eldest and we went off to the patchwork shop to buy the toppers, bottomers and borderers for the two remaining quilts!! Phew.. what a marathon! When you are faced with walls of choice and the task of trying to match old material colours to modern ones it was not terribly easy. Thankfully there was a place to sit down and have a coffee which we were very happy about having made the first selections for my mothers topper. It was huge fun and ended up being really rather expensive but then.. that was to be expected!! Hopefully I will do a good job of putting these bits together and getting them quilted and then they will be heirlooms for the future. It was fabulous having a sidekick to help make all those colour and pattern decisions.
My husband returned home late this evening after a fun 4 days in Rome. He looked a little sun kissed which in November is a rare thing in this country and has walked for miles.. so tomorrow will be a happy home day and dinner out in the evening.
