World Kindness Day

If ever there was a celebratory day that fits perfectly with Blipfoto it’s World Kindness Day. It was introduced in 1998 by the World Kindness Movement and offers the opportunity to highlight good deeds in the community and the common thread of kindness.
 
Of course, we recognise that our members are very familiar with acts of kindness, whether it be some lovely words in a comment, giving stars and hearts or the gifting of memberships, which we re-introduced in 2019. We’d love to hear about some of the other special acts of kindness you’ve received because of your time on Blipfoto. Just let us know in the comments below.
 
If you want to find out more about the day, there are different lead organisations depending on your country, so we encourage members to search the internet to see what is going on in your own area.
 
While we're posting on Blip Central, we have become aware lately that some members don’t receive the occasional email we send out to let you know when special things are happening.  In the most recent case it was brought to our attention after a member raised concerns that gifts of membership they'd sent out hadn't been taken up. A gift of membership is only notified by email.
 
The first thing to check is that your notification page has been set up so that you receive emails from Blipfoto.  You can check this by going to your notifications page and we have an FAQ which explains things in a bit more detail.
 
We’re also aware that some of our emails to members aren’t reaching you as they get caught in the spam or junk filter of your email client.  We have no control over this, but if you want to make sure that you receive any emails we send out to you, there are things you can do to minimise the possibility of our emails going astray.
 
It’s not possible to provide guidance for all the different mail clients that are out there but for Microsoft Outlook you would add our domain (blipfoto.com) to your safe senders list. For Apple Mail it’s a slightly different approach and for the Google Mail you can set up an approved senders list. If we haven’t been able to cover your email client here, we’re sure that an internet search will soon find the answer for you. This will also help if you have raised a help desk ticket with us as our responses are also sent out by email.
