Autumn On The Estate

Every time we go on to or off our estate we see this magnificent beech tree. At this time of year it is at its best. Above the road it has been slightly trimmed for when the school bus drives past, but from this angle it looks symmetrical.

I set this morning's alarm for 6am as we had to leave at 7.30 to get to the SpaMedica hospital in Kendal for 8.50am. The Man was to have his other cataract removed. They'll do the right one this time! The did the right one last time as well because the right one was the left one that time.

I took my laptop so that I could get on with some work while I waited for him. I was surprised when he arrived out by about 10.15am. Most of the time is spent waiting for the pupil to dilate. The actual operation takes 7.5 minutes.

We remembered about the ice-cream parlour and went the for a coffee and cheese scone before heading home. I made the same mistake in the town centre as I did last time and drove twice through Kendal before I could get out! I find it hard to judge distances on SatNavs and turned too early. AGAIN!

So that's him, looking forward to good vision without glasses. He's hurting a bit this time as it seemed so good last time that he refused the Diazepam this time. Mistake! Have the drugs!

We were home in time for me to catch this tree in good sunlight.

I had a call from the Dermatology department to see how I was getting on with all the creams they had given me. The surgery nurse hadn't carried out all the blood tests they had asked for so, another trip into town before my next face2face appointment.
