If only life......

..... was so simple. Mum humming away to Adele singing 'Feel My Love' while colouring in. In her own world, occasionally chatting to Indie who is always laying beside her chair.
In other news - Mum & I were going to meet Josie & her canine friend Molly for a walk around Buckfast Abbey Gardens then coffee, but the ABS light came on on the dashboard. Ops! What's that all about. We were on the A38 dual carriageway at the time. I pulled over into a bus stop lay by. Couldn't find what I should do in the handbook. Rang my brother, he answered fortunately, told me probably okay to drive but get the car checked. I decided we should head back home. Drove to the nearest slip road, applied foot brake.. Nothing. Thankfully handbrake worked. Phew! Rang our garage buddy. He sent 2 chaps to rescue us.. We were at this point standing on the grass verge in the shade where it was quite chilly.
One of the chaps drove my car back to the garage. I've got a courtesy car. Arg is super busy so don't know when I'll get the car back. I had a freshly baked apple cake for Jos, so the guys in the garage struck lucky. Well, I say lucky..... I like it.
Rang hubby from Mum's to explain... "You don't look after that car" "I told you not to use the brake as much". Thank you for your concern.
Made Mum's lunch, picked her washing in, got that on the airer then left for home.
Booked Mum's birthday lunch at The Moorland this Sunday. Needed to add 2 friends to our table. Couldn't fix on line so rang them. Mentioned it was Mum's 92nd birthday on the day, thought they might write happy birthday on a plate. "Do you have proof of her birthday?" "Yes" Then your Mum gets a 2 course lunch free. Well blow me down with a feather.. I've just dug out her passport.. Still in date too. I bet she'd love to fly off to somewhere sunny. :-) So would I Happy days!!
