A Fright Sight Alpha Fail
Bad back day four and I thought I should at least make an attempt at regaining some ambulatory status after the frustration of being incapacitated for the last three days and staring at four walls - leading to blip images of net curtains, a gift bag and a swan brooch respectively. Unfortunately, I was still unable to go for my usual early morning run but my brother persuaded me we should go into town for a walk, or hobble in my case, and he would buy me a pint to try and raise by spirits.
When we arrived in town I found it really difficult to even get out of the car but once we got moving I was able to unfurl a little, whilst still feeling like a wizened old man, with progress being very sluggardly. By the time we got to the pub I was exhausted but strangely enough the pint seemed to have restorative powers and on the way home I even managed a very slow, if slightly less stooped, amble around nearby Mote Park to take in all the autumnal colours of the park's arboreal splendour, which I somehow failed to get a decent image of.
Therefore, today's image is the only shot that I garnered when we were in town. It's supposed to be the window of the local fancy dress shop as it prepares for Halloween but getting the camera into position wasn't that easy in my present state and I got the focus point completely wrong so somehow managed to alight on the words "Alpha runs here" reflected from the front of the church across the road in the background instead of the scary characters in the foreground (there's surely something there about being between heaven and hell!) but it has actually given them an on theme phantasmagorical feel (or at least that's what I'm telling myself) so I went with it!
