Northgate Staircase Lock Top

I had to go into Chester this morning and while I was there completed a geocaching adlab. One of the stages was at Northgate Staircase Locks. This is the third of three locks that takes the canal up 33ft from Tower Wharf next to Telford's Warehouse. This lock seems to be officially numbered as 41 which makes sense as the bridge numbering starts from Autherley Junction however the lock itself has a number 3 written on it.
