"For the Next 24 hours" by Dawn Lippiat

A trip to the hospital today to get my final test results - all clear!! :))))))

This amazing sculpture is just one of the many art works dotted around the hospital as part of a programme of integrated art projects for the comfort, health and well being of patients and staff. Nobody likes going to the hospital but these art works really do cheer up the place, and me!

"For the Next 24 hours" by Dawn Lippiat

"This crane fly/daddy long legs, which has a one-day life span, is often deemed useless. Its legs cannot support it adequately and it is a creature that seems to hold no function. In "For the Next 24 hours", 2007, the daddy long legs is elevated like a statue in a square, to reverential proportions, for no other reason than its pointlessness. It becomes a symbol of time wasting, and questions whether we would act differently to the crane fly should we be given only one day to live." Art @ the Heart
