Fohn / Craven Faults
Back in school today, but an excellent result with the recruitment, so that made all the time spent on it worthwhile.
And then down to Chorley, to meet up with Simon and walk across to The White Hotel where we were met by the Minx for tonight's gig.
The support act was called Fohn, which turned out to be a chap called Tom Connolly, who combines his own violin playing with electronics and field recordings. This worked rather well in such a small venue; it was really evocative. I'd see him again (in a similar sized venue, mind).
And after that, it was on to the main event, Craven Faults, whom the Minx and I saw previously at Thwaite Watermill.
To be honest, if your preference runs to large light shows and extrovert front men and women, then this probably - almost certainly - isn't the act for you. What you can see in my Extra was pretty much all there was to see - one man, tinkering with his modular synthesiser - although there was a film playing in the background: black and white footage of the dales, enlivened by the occasional sheep.
But I had no complaints, and nor did anyone else it seems. The Minx and Simon were both full of praise for the music afterwards.
