Grandpa Kelly
This is an article from the Cross and Cockade about my grandfather who served in the Royal Flying Corps in the first world war. It was discovered by the father of a friend of my cousin who is into genealogy and shared with us and proves the family legend that he flew with Tony Benn's father (see the extra).
He survived and went on to be part of the RAF until 1920 and later joined the Royal Navy as an engineering officer. His two brothers didn't, both dying in May 2018, one at home in Yorkshire as a result of gas and one was killed in the trenches.
