The day the sun came back

At last!  I won't say it was clear skies all day but there was a good amount of sunshine which felt wonderful after the last two weeks of gloom. 

This little egret was spied down by the river hunting for breakfast.  Goodness I do think they're beautiful looking birds and seeing him quite made up for not getting down to the coast as I'd planned.  And why didn't I go?  Because yesterday evening the lock on the front door broke (or its cylinder did) so today I had to wait in from mid morning for the locksmith.  It's all fixed now, at vast expense, but I have to admit it was an old lock so shouldn't complain.  I've lived here for 20 years and the lock was old when I arrived.

So that's sort of my day.  Hope your's has been a good one  xx
