The lady doth protest too much,

me thinks. When I stop to take photos Indie rolls around in the grass. Her way of letting me know she's bored.
An early visit to the plot with kitchen waste for the composter & what do I find. The pesky pigeons have pecked all the young tender growth on the perennial kale, AND the purple sprouting brocoli, so my quick visit turned into a brassica baracading exercise. Grhh!!!
More time spent in Mum's garden. I emptied the pot where I found the vine weevil larvae yesterday. The clematis roots were very dense so I teased them apart & flushed the roots thoroughly before repotting with a mix of fresh multi-purpose & top soil. Popped dwarf tulip, & daffodil bulbs, plus anemone blanda corms in the pots before finishing off with viola plugs.
Cooked the pigs trotter for Indie's lunch.
Mum came back to Chudleigh, we had roast duck. I made a batch of Delia's braised red cabbage with apple. The red cabbage was huge so I'll freeze down batches of the braise for use later. Dropped Mum home & got her settled in front of the TV for the Strictly results. I hope she watched. I agreed with chief judge Shirley. .
