New-bees

Deborah and I went today to a presentation, by Peter Connor (Cambridgeshire Beekeepers Association), on the realities of keeping bees.  Apparently there is always a high drop out rate when optimistic new beekeepers realise the commitment, responsibilities and financial outlay of this hobby.  So, the afternoon is a way of furnishing us first timers with the facts before we invest in a course, equipment etc. next year.

The talk was was fascinating and we had the opportunity to meet and question several local beekeepers about their experiences.  It has made us both even more keen to learn more.
