TUNNY
The Tunny
Big fish little boat, just a rod, a line, a man.
The days when the Tunny were here in the sea
Not just a ringpull can.
Gifted to the people of Scarborough, UK by Maureen Robinson - 2013.
This is another sculpture by Ray Lonsdale - the third sculpture to be bought for this area. The Tunny represents our fishing past when many boats used the harbour to land their vast catch of Tuna Fish. Sadly the story today is very different. Our expertise now lies with shellfish, crabs and lobsters.
