Recording
Not 9 to 5 bu nine to half past four, that's how long it took to record five songs with the choir. They were well prepared and hav sung the song for some time, which helped a lot of course. In most of them we did second and even third takes, just to make sure we have a good version in the end.
The blip is from the warm-up
Now, what is left is to mix the songs, which will take much more time than recording it. What we have is the sound from each of the six microphones plus the sound from the instruments, that all will need tweeking, balancing, colouring and compromising. I'll let you know how it goes and in the end let you have links to the finished result on youtube.
I played a lot of songs by Leonard Cohen through the years, in bands and on my own, I say that just to state that I know many of his songs pretty well but I just saw a well made and very moving documentary about him, based around his song "Halleluja", and I would recommend you to see it, if it is available where you are. The amount of wisdom, humbleness and love is obvious when you watch it.
