Free Gaza
More murk and gloom today and I had to go into Bantry to get bath salts and bird food. The trip turned into an unexpected focus on Gaza. I've been meaning to blip the old cinema repainted and used as an HQ for the Free Gaza group as it's been very attractively done. I hadn't gone very far when I acme across an advert for an exhibition in what was once an old church, then a doctors' surgery and is now an exhibition space. The exhibition, Art Under Fire, has been brought to Bantry by The US Palestinian Museum in partnership with the Bantry Group for Palestine whose headquarters I'd just passed. It features the work of various Palestinian artists, at least two of whom are still in Gaza. There were some bleak images but the saddest to me were those that showed the colourfully dressed women and the poppy-strewn countryside and honey coloured villages. As my thoughts are with Palestinian, I've included another image seen in Kinsale the other day.
