Power!
Last week, we received a hand-delivered letter through the door advising that our electricity would be turned off the next day to permit emergency repairs to be carried out on the local network. The next morning, we were informed that the fault no longer required the power to be turned off. Five or six vans and around 20 engineers worked at a small substation just down the road.
I still don't know what they did, how they did it or why so many staff were required, but they managed to do it without interrupting our supply.
My picture shows the result of their endeavours. My thanks to all involved.
