Ole Chas .....

..... HeartFreek's Challenge - "Home Made"

It's a long story, so I'll start from the beginning.

My parents married at St Martin's Church on Saturday 3rd August 1957

Hubby and I married at St Martin's Church on Saturday 3rd August 1985

and Chris (our eldest son) is marrying Gina at St Martin's Church on Saturday 3rd August 2013

Now, to date, all the wedding plans seem to be going well. The cars and coaches are booked, the flowers are planned and the necessary dresses, suits etc have been purchased.

It's going to be an emotional time for all family and friends, I know I'm going to shed a tear or two. It's also a time to remember those that are no longer with us and to raise a glass or two in their memory.

Hubby's father passed away a couple of years ago but was a big influence on our son's life. They had a very special relationship and were like peas in a pod. Both loved real ale and frequently nipped down to the local for a pint and a chat.

By way of remembering him, our son has made some home made ale to take to the wedding reception so we can raise a glass to "Ole Chas". A few weeks ago he and I were dispensing the beer from the barrel into the bottles and capping them. He has since had printed out personalised labels which, this morning, we've been applying to the bottles with industrial strength adhesive - hence, today's blip.

Saturday 3rd August 2013 is coming around extremely quickly now and the excitement in my tummy is building. Let's just hope the weather is kind to them.

Bingo Update:- I was out with friends last night, but hubby said Bingo visited around 10pm. She had two biscuits and looked fit and well. She seems to have changed her visiting pattern and no longer visits in daylight so blips may not be forthcoming for a while, trust Bingo, but at least she is ok.
