On Some Days

Under Pressure . . . David Bowie & Queen

Today has been social.  The rugby NZ V Ireland was at a civilised time of 9.15 am.  Our team won which is always good for us.  Afterwards we had scones and coffee with Andrew and Bev.  I talked at the gate to Ann my gardening neighbour.  She is feeling a bit under the weather but she is 87 with a huge garden she still looks after.  I was looking for a space for a new dahlia and after entering into negotiations with the  forester the dahlia can be planted in a corner of his vegetable patch.  He objects to my flowers encroaching on his area.
Then it was down to the mall to buy a birthday present for the 5 year old I knit for.  She is getting a book of a Maori legend and a childs Pickle Ball set.  She can play with her Grandma. Lastly we took afternoon tea round to the sister in law.  Yesterday she became a grandma for the second time.  The new baby was photographed wearing a black and white stripped stretch and grow.  Very supportive of the All Blacks.  His father is a fan but I dought his mother will let him play, in her opinion, such a rough game.   Leaving the house we saw the cloud very low on the Richmond Hills.  Rain could be coming.  Those metal poles in the distance are supporting new apple trees.  The bare ground used to be grape vines when my brother in law was alive.  Now that land is leased to a vegetable grower.  We aren't sure what has been planted.  The last crop was green and red cabbage.
