Kingfisher

It was a gloomy cold and grey day as I headed for Budleigh beach this morning.  I met up with a friend from the camera club who was keen to see the Snow Buntings.  Unfortunately we couldn't spot any despite being there for a couple of hours.  We did however see a Kingfisher and grabbed a few shots before it flew around a grassy embankment.  Our next bird was a Heron that was mainly staying pretty still but it eventually caught a flat fish, see extra.  Other than photographing a Rock Pipit that was about all that came near to us.  We were both pretty cold by the time we finished so it was off for a coffee and lunch.

An afternoon sorting out photos for a presentation and then a speaker at the camera club.  It was Rupert Kirkwood, a kayaker who has a love of animals and the environment. He gave a very entertaining presentation with photos and videos taken from his kayak, including very large tuna fish, dolphins, porpoises, sharks and even whales.
